YOUR RECORDS, EXPLAINED

Privacy information

What stays on your device, and when information is sent elsewhere.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Weekly News is preparing for release. This page explains the current app and server implementation. The public AI service and subscription sales are not yet operating. Before use begins, this page will be updated with the deployed server provider, processing locations, and verified infrastructure-log retention settings.

1. Entries and newspapers are stored on your device

Journal text, dates, moods, an unfinished draft, saved newspapers, and app settings are handled in local device storage. The app does not provide account registration, cross-device synchronization, or cloud journal backup. The current app includes no advertising or usage-analytics SDK.

Export important records yourself before losing, replacing, or removing a device or app. Operating-system backup and restore behavior requires verification in the final release build, so do not rely on automatic device backups to preserve your records.

2. AI generation sends entries only with your agreement

When you request AI generation, the selected week's journal text, dates, moods, entry identifiers, output language, and week are sent to the service server. The server sends those entries to the OpenAI API to create a newspaper draft. Purchase evidence is not sent to OpenAI.

The app explains this transfer and asks for your agreement. Declining does not prevent local journaling or reading saved records. AI output can be inaccurate; review it before sharing.

The current server uses entries and generated newspapers in memory while handling the request. It does not persist their contents in a separate database or write request bodies to application logs. Requests to OpenAI set store:false. This setting does not eliminate all OpenAI retention. Abuse-monitoring retention and exceptions depend on the account's applicable policies. See OpenAI's data controls for the provider's terms.

Deleting an entry on your device does not simultaneously delete information already processed elsewhere. Contact us below if you need help with a data-processing question.

3. Subscription access and generation limits are verified

Apple App Store or Google Play handles purchases. The app sends the product identifier and purchase evidence to the service server, which verifies current subscription access with the relevant store. The app does not collect payment-card numbers. Purchase evidence is kept in the device's secure storage for subsequent access checks.

To prevent duplicate requests and excessive usage, the server stores these operational records:

These records contain no journal or newspaper text. Request records become eligible for cleanup after 62 days; monthly counters after approximately two to three months. Cleanup takes place during a subsequent successful generation-request reservation, so records may remain longer if no further requests occur. This operational cleanup is separate from deleting entries in the app.

4. You choose what to share or export

Article sharing passes only your selected and previewed articles to the device's system share sheet. After choosing a destination, the receiving app or service's policy applies. A full export may include journal entries and drafts; check where you save or send it.

5. Website visits and support messages

This website has no analytics scripts, advertising, signup forms, or contact forms. Hosting and security systems may process technical information such as IP addresses, access times, and requested URLs to deliver pages and operate securely. The absence of app analytics does not mean that the hosting provider keeps no access logs.

If you email support, your reply address and message are used to handle your request. Do not send full journals, payment-card details, passwords, API keys, or purchase tokens. A redacted error screenshot and app version are usually more useful. You can request deletion of your support correspondence at the same email address.

6. Deletion and contact

The app lets you delete an entry, a newspaper, or all local records. Deleting a source entry also removes saved newspapers that cite it. Export anything you want to keep before deletion. Removing app records or uninstalling the app does not cancel a store subscription.
